Net-Zero by2050
100% clean grids: a prototype with our open-source stack.
Why did we buildthis?
We believe that accessible, transparent, and data-driven insights can help accelerate the global energy transition. While this platform is still a prototype, our vision is to enable answers to key questions such as:
- How much investment is needed to achieve a 100% clean or net-zero power system?
- Where can climate finance deliver the greatest CO₂ reduction per dollar?
- Where could be clean energy already cheaper than fossil fuels — and why?
- What will future electricity costs look like for households and businesses?
- How much new capacity is required for generators, grids, and storage?
- How can manufacturers design energy technologies that are future-ready and competitive?

Who are we?Open Energy Transition
Open Energy Transition (OET) is a non-profit organization accelerating the global shift to clean energy by making cutting-edge tools and insights accessible to energy planners —helping steer billions in investment based on trusted information.
We advance open-source software and open data as powerful enablers of accessibility, transparency, and collaboration—helping stakeholders plan faster, lower system costs, and strengthen grid resilience. We also provide training and best-practice guidance to ensure planners and policymakers can confidently use these tools to drive effective, data-informed decisions.
